We always had fresh air in the classroom, even in the winter. Students were so used to it that if the doors weren't open they reminded me.

Arts  Improving  Academics

*  AIA is a newly forming non-profit organization delivering arts and academic tutoring to elementary school aged children.

*  Although our students could come from any city, we are based in the historical Lincoln Park district of       Pomona, California a multi-cultural city of about 200,000.

*  Our objective is to introduce a variety of arts as a means of building confidence in students, who will then more confidently face the demands of academics.  Our students’ artwork will be displayed in public places and be offered for sale so that students may begin to save money for their future.

 *  We believe that the arts offer an appealing tool, readily available for use, in developing concentration and a sense of accomplishment in young people.  Besides the usual arts of drawing, painting, dance, music, and drama, we believe that living successfully from day to day is also an art and so we address the needs of the whole child in our classes.

*  We believe in quality fund-raising and so manufacture our own artistic and educational ware, which will benefit all those who support our efforts to raise funds for our student scholarships.

Marsha Cunningham, executive director, explains to the Daily Bulletin, how her students get results.
Sitting up straight and holding on to the paper; the only way to get results!
